CHSR

The Center for Health Statistics Research (CHSR) opened its doors in the Fall of 1999 with the single mission of providing the infrastructure and relevant expertise to address important statistical design and analysis issues tied to research focusing on high-risk populations, especially that which leads to new insights in health promotion and disease preventions. This is accomplished by (i) focusing the Center's attention on methodological issues that arise in conjunction with existing substantive research efforts, and (ii) conducting this statistical research parallel to and in collaboration with the efforts of researchers in various settings of the health research landscape in North Carolina. Collaborators in the Center's mission include three UNC-CH departments (Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Maternal & Child Health), three UNC-CH research units (Minority Health Project, Carolina Population Center, and Survey Research Unit), a state public health agency (North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics), and two private research organization (Research Triangle Institute, Analytical Sciences, Inc.).

The CHSR is supported by funds from the CDC/National Center for Health Statistics (Contract No. UR6/CCU417428-01). Please direct comments and questions to chsr@sph.unc.edu. Last modified on 25 January 2001..
